Myanmar’s foreign debt acquired since 1988 amounts to just over US$9 billion, a
fraction of that of many of its neighbours
Nauru
In 2016 Nauru public debt was 60 million euros 66 million dollars, has decreased 11 million since 2015. This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 64.96% of Nauru GDP, a 12.76 percentage point fall from 2015, when it was 77.72% of GDP.
Nepal
Of this $3.5 billion in external debt, $1.5 billion is owed to the World Bank and $1.4 billion to the Asian Development Bank, together amounting to over 80% of the total debt. According to the IMF, Nepal will spend $210 million on debt payments in 2015, and a similar amount in 2016 and 2017.
